Spread It Up – 2 Must Try Recipes

Marston LaneBy Marston LaneOctober 4, 2021No Comments3 Mins Read183 Views

Snacks in the evening are a must at many homes. My family waits for my new recipes over snacks.I tried some unique and delicious dessert snacks this weekend, which were quick and easy to make. Try these recipes and urge your friends and family membersto say WOW!

  1. Jam Straws

Jam Straws are an all-rounder when it comes to the serving. You can serve them as a dessert at your parties; you can have them as a snack with tea or even send them to your kids lunch. It is easy to prepare with easily available ingredients. You will require flakey butter pie dough, half cup jam, icing sugar, and heavy cream.

To bake the straws, pre-heat the oven at 400 degrees. Next, using dough, prepare two small balls and roll them out using the roller. Prepare 2 thin rectangular layers. Place one layer in the tray, and apply Apple Spread over it. Afterward, place the other thin rectangular layer over the jam spread and press it gently. Now cut one-inch long way sections and twist them. The straw is delicate so do it as perfectly as you can.

Now brush it with heavy cream and then place the jam straws in the baking sheet. Prepare all the straws and bake them for 15 minutes. Remove them from the oven and let them cool down. Once cooled, remove from the sheet, sprinkle icing sugar over it, and serve.

Pro Tip: Don’t serve them immediately after baking. They should be completely cooled before serving to get the crunch in them.

  1. Jam Almond Crumb Bars

This recipe has been a party hit for me as I can add flavor variations by changing jam flavors in it. Therefore, I always make it with different jams, and people always find their favorite from the bunch. Want to know the best part? These crumb bars are an addiction! Once you try it, you will crave for them again and again.

Moreover, it is healthy and thus a good option for kids to try too. They can be made at night and given for lunch the next day. To prepare this delicious recipe, you will require coconut oil, wheat flour, cinnamon powder, salt, baking powder, icing sugar, brown sugar, egg, sliced almonds, vanilla essence, and mixed fruit spread.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease the baking dish and set it aside. Take a medium-sized bowl and add salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and flour. Whisk it. Now beatcoconut oil, sugar, and creamtogether. Next, add egg and vanilla essence extract and mix it. Now gradually add flour to make the dough. Mix until the dough is crumbly. Now add sliced almonds. Once ready, add half of the mixture to the baking tray. Then add jam and then spread the remaining half of the mixture. Now, bake it for half an hour. Let it cool down. Then cut it intosmall square pieces and serve.

Both these dessert snack dishes are yummy and healthy.Enjoy them with tea, coffee or milk. Share which recipe was a hit at your place in the comments.
